Support Groups
Support groups provide an opportunity for peer-to-peer socialization alongside professional support, in addition to informational resources and workshops. We welcome all individuals living with HIV and those who care for them to participate.
Being part of our support groups includes the following services:
- Outreach Support: Housing, transportation, case management, grocery assistance, practical needs, home and hospital visits.
- Program Activities: Social outings: BBQ’s, coffee dates, monthly brunches or dinners, take-out dinners, movies, bowling.
Women’s Support Group
The Heart of Richmond has an women’s-only support group titled WSG. This provides a safe and supportive environment for women living with HIV and their caregivers to communicate without gendered judgement. WSG meetings are held regularly at our office at 303-6411 Buswell Street in Richmond.
To participate in either of our support groups, please contact the Outreach Case Manager at 778-883-5137.
“I like the way the group shares their experiences and I learned from them. I also feel secure and like the trusting environment of the group.”
